Rutledge for Governor Statement on SCOTUS Hearing Important Abortion Case

May 18, 2021

LITTLE ROCK – After the U.S. Supreme Court decided to hear a 15-week abortion case in Mississippi, Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge released the following statement:

“Arkansas is the most pro-life state in the country. I fight every day for our most vulnerable – the unborn – as Attorney General of Arkansas and I will continue this fight as your next governor. That’s why I signed on to an amicus brief in support of the Supreme Court of the United States taking up this important Mississippi case and have also asked the Supreme Court to reverse an Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling to protect unborn babies with Down syndrome. I’m happy to see 22 other states submit a friend-of-the-court brief supporting our leadership and asking the court to review our case.”
