Rutledge Announces Record-Breaking Fundraising Haul

October 15, 2020

LITTLE ROCK – Attorney General Leslie Rutledge announced today a record-breaking fundraising total of $838,340.19 for her first finance report of her campaign for Governor of Arkansas in 2022. Rutledge’s fundraising haul is the highest amount ever raised by a Republican gubernatorial candidate during the first quarter of a campaign or any gubernatorial candidate‘s first fundraising quarter, Democrat or Republican, since the prohibition against corporate contributions became law following the 2014 election.

“Over the last several years, I have received encouragement from across the State to use my experience as Attorney General to run and become the first female Governor of Arkansas,” said Attorney General Rutledge. “I am beyond humbled by the outpouring of support from so many Arkansans representing all corners of our State. My campaign is more energized than ever as we are committed to Make Arkansas First.”

This historic quarter was fueled primarily through grassroots support, with over 86 percent of all contributions received from Arkansas donors. Additionally, 60 of Arkansas’s 75 counties were represented in the report out of the nearly 700 individual donors. Rutledge is prepared to earn the votes of Arkansas voters, and this fundraising momentum will give her the resources to remind Arkansans of her unmatched executive experience, trusted leadership, and vision for the future of Arkansas.
